Henderson
Nevada’s second-largest city, a polished suburban counterweight to Vegas with its own casinos, parks, and lake access.
About Henderson
Henderson sits southeast of the Strip and is, by population, Nevada’s second-largest city. It was founded in 1941 to house workers at the Basic Magnesium plant supplying World War II munitions and has since grown into a master-planned suburb of about 340,000. The city runs its own casino corridor on Green Valley Parkway — Green Valley Ranch, Sunset Station, and The M Resort — with lower minimums and better player rewards than the Strip. The M Resort, perched on a ridge at the southern end of the valley, has one of the best buffet-with-a-view setups in town. Henderson is the gateway to Lake Mead and Hoover Dam, about 20 minutes farther east, and makes a good base for travelers who want to combine outdoor day trips with a quieter evening scene.
