About Esther's Kitchen
Esther's Kitchen opened in the Arts District in 2018 and made Chef James Trees one of the most recognized chefs in Las Vegas. The restaurant, named after Trees's aunt, occupies a converted warehouse on Casino Center Boulevard and feels operationally much more like a Brooklyn or Oakland trattoria than a Strip restaurant. Housemade pastas lead the menu — bucatini carbonara, agnolotti, the signature pomodoro with the San Marzano sauce that Trees has recorded more than one podcast about. Produce comes from local growers; the wine list leans toward Italian naturals. Reservations essential, particularly for weekend evenings. Walk-in bar seating is a viable alternative. First Friday nights in the Arts District overwhelm the kitchen; go on a weeknight.
