About Velveteen Rabbit
Velveteen Rabbit opened in 2013 on Main Street as one of the first serious craft-cocktail bars south of Downtown. Sisters Pamela and Christina Dylag run the bar; their rotating menu organized around seasonal themes has set the tone for the 18b Arts District's later bar scene. Interiors lean curated-thrift-store: mid-century chairs, velvet settees, a mounted taxidermy program, and a back patio with a fire pit. The cocktail menu changes quarterly and leans clever without being gimmicky — house-macerated bitters, custom syrups, and seasonal produce from local farms. Opens mid-afternoon and runs past midnight on weekends. First Friday nights (the monthly Arts District festival) spike traffic; arrive early or late. Closed Mondays typically.
