About Seven Magic Mountains
Seven Magic Mountains is a large-scale public artwork by Swiss-born artist Ugo Rondinone, installed in 2016 on a stretch of BLM land off Las Vegas Boulevard South near Jean. Each of the seven totems stacks five to six locally quarried limestone boulders, painted in fluorescent dayglo colors, to heights between 25 and 35 feet. Originally permitted as a two-year installation, the work has been extended multiple times. It has become one of the most-Instagrammed sites within driving distance of Las Vegas, drawing about a thousand visitors a day on weekends. Free to visit. No facilities — bring water, no shade. Roughly 25 minutes from Mandalay Bay; combine with a stop at the dry lake beds outside Jean if you have an hour to spare.
