About Aria Resort & Casino

Aria opened in December 2009 as the centerpiece of the $8.5 billion CityCenter development, a mixed-use urban infill on the Strip's former Boardwalk/Monte Carlo parcel. Architect Pelli Clarke Pelli designed the curved twin-glass towers; the interior public program — a James Turrell skylight, a Maya Lin silver-cast sculpture of the Colorado River — reads more like a museum than a casino hotel. Room count is 4,004, and the technology program made headlines at launch: automated in-room lighting and HVAC that adjusts when you enter, digital panels for curtain and blind control. Much of that infrastructure has been refreshed since. AAA Five-Diamond. MGM Resorts operates Aria; ownership sits with Infinity World Development and MGM in a joint venture. Best rooms face the Cosmopolitan and the fountains of Bellagio across the boulevard.
