About Caesars Palace
Caesars Palace opened in August 1966 as Jay Sarno's attempt to make the Strip more theatrical than its competitors. The name deliberately omits the possessive apostrophe — Sarno wanted every guest to feel like a Caesar. Six towers have been added over six decades, now housing 3,960 rooms and suites. The resort anchors the central Strip with the Forum Shops mall (1992), the Colosseum concert venue (2003, built for the original Celine Dion residency), and the Garden of the Gods pool complex. The property was the site of Evel Knievel's 1967 fountains jump and has hosted every significant boxing title bout of the modern era. Caesars Entertainment operates the property today. Room inventory spans the affordable Forum Tower rooms through the ultra-premium Nobu Hotel tower-within-a-tower. Colosseum Tower rooms put you closest to the concert venue and the Forum Shops.
