About The Venetian Resort

The Venetian opened in May 1999 on the site of the old Sands Hotel, which Sheldon Adelson had implored and replaced with a Venice-themed resort anchored by a half-scale Campanile and a recreation of St. Mark's Square. The interior Grand Canal with singing gondoliers runs the length of the Grand Canal Shoppes mall. The property is all-suite, with 4,049 rooms across the main tower — entry-level suites start at 650 square feet and include a sunken living area. The adjacent Palazzo tower (2008) adds 3,068 more suites. Las Vegas Sands Corp. sold the combined Venetian/Palazzo to Apollo Global Management and VICI Properties in 2021. Operated today as one integrated property with the Palazzo, sharing the casino floor, the shopping mall, and the Sands Expo & Convention Center next door.
